To evaluate the abdominal organs (liver, pancreas, gallbladder, aorta, right kidney).
This exam takes up to 15-20 minutes.
You will be asked to lie on a table where a technologist will apply a gel to your mid abdomen and move a transducer to various points across your abdomen in order to best demonstrate anatomy. You may be asked to hold your breath for a short time to capture an image.
The radiologist will study your images and dictate a report, which will be sent to your physician within 3–5 business days.
