How long will this ultrasound take?
This exam takes up to 30-40 mins depending on anatomy
Preparation for a breast ultrasound
No special prep required.
Wear comfortable clothing; you may be asked to remove clothing from the waist up.
Procedure:
You will be asked to lie on a table where a technologist will apply a gel to the breast area and move a transducer to various points across your chest in order to best demonstrate anatomy. Axilla is also scanned so advisable to shave under the armpits.
After Procedure:
The radiologist will study your images and dictate a report, which will be sent to your physician within 3–5 business days.
