Confirm and date pregnancy, monitor baby’s growth, position and heartbeat, assess placenta, amniotic fluid and anatomy of baby. Detect multiple pregnancies or fetal abnormalities.

Preparation for an OB ultrasound

• Have a full bladder prior to exam

Procedure:

You will be asked to lie on a table where a technologist will apply gel over the belly and use a device that moves across the belly to assess and take images.

After Procedure:

The radiologist will study your images and dictate a report, which will be sent to your physician within 3–5 business days.
