This exam takes up to 15-20 mins

Preparation for a prostate ultrasound

• Drink 16-24 oz of water and have a full bladder prior to exam.

Procedure:

You will be asked to lie on a table where a technologist will apply a gel to the lower abdomen and probe is used to move over the lower abdomen area.

After Procedure:

The radiologist will study your images and dictate a report, which will be sent to your physician within 3–5 business days.
